DDBI Stuff You Need to Know

What is the DDBI?
Basically, the Day Drinkers' Bocce Invitational is an excuse to get out of the city, make new friends, play some bocce, and do some quality day drinking in a self-contained, stress-free environment.

Bocce?
Bocce is an ancient game, essentially a combination of bowling, shuffleboard and lawn darts. It's incredibly easy to learn and play. We play a variation known as Extreme Bocce. Try it. You'll like it.

How do I get there?
One upside to not having it on an island this year: no ferries to deal with! The total drive will probably take you about as long as it did last year, but you'll be heading east through some of the most breathtaking country on this continent. No more two-hour ferry lineup!

What's this "registration" business?
It's a little complicated, which is why we have a whole registration page to clear that up.

Can I bring my dog?
Sure, as long as your pooch plays well with others, is housebroken, and can be prevented from trying to chase or fetch bocce balls (they'll lose teeth if they do), they are welcome.

Housekeeping Items
So you're going to join us? Great! We'll take good care of you, and all we ask in return is that you take care of the property and each other while you're there:
- Please clean up after yourself (bottle caps, cigarette butts, paper plates, etc)
- Please recycle what you can (containers will be provided).
- If you drive, you may be (politely) asked to take a load to the dumpster with you on the way back home.
- Bring enough bevvy! Gaffling your neighbor's drink is a karmic black mark you don’t want on your soul.

Weekend Schedule
Here's what we have in store for the weekend:

Friday, June 22nd
  All Day – Fun and games as guests arrive
  5pm – Official DDBI Kickoff
  5pm – BYO Cocktail Reception (Bond attire encouraged!)
  7pm – BBQ Dinner (fully provided)
  9pm – DDBI Buy-in Poker Tournament
  Dusk – Bonfire (Assuming no fire ban)

Saturday, June 23rd
  9:30am – Breakfast (full breakfast provided)
  9:31am – Drinking begins (Sangria tapped!)
  High Noon – Tournament begins!
  1:30(ish) – Lunch (full lunch provided)
  7pm(ish) – Dinner (BYO grillables)
  8pm – Award ceremony (or when tournament is complete)
  Dusk – Bonfire (Assuming no fire ban)

Sunday, June 24th
Morning – Nurse hangovers, breakfast (nothing formal, should be plenty of leftovers)
Noon – Official DDBI End – Go home!
